John Paul II

Karol Wojtyla is gone, but he left behind some influential writings.

Young Karol learned to resist tyranny in spirit as a youth in Nazi occupied Poland, and later as a priest in Communist Poland. It is not easy to live through such dark times and maintain one's beliefs. For his iron committment to his values and his attempts to develop them, John Paul has earned my respect.

Why not peruse his thought provoking encyclical Centesimus annus?
